Gadsden Sees Growth in Last Year
The City of Gadsden has shown growth over the last year in numbers of events, participants, and hotel occupancy. According to the Etowah County Tourism Board, the year to date occupancy is up 8.5%. Gadsden’s continued riverfront development is projected to continue bringing more visitors into Etowah County.
The Venue at Coosa Landing, which is expected to open at the end of the month, will be hosting more events and expos. The Venue will enable the community to attract statewide events. Fishing continues to be a strong attraction towards the Coosa River.
The 2018 Alabama Bass Championship is expected to be hosted at the Coosa Landing that will draw thousands of people towards the community. High school fishing tournaments held on Gadsden’s waterways are also on the rise.
The Black Creek Trails is bringing in more outdoor recreation to the area with its 13 mile plus of hiking and biking. The Etowah County Tourism Board is also planning to bring bigger mountain bike races to the trails at Noccalula Falls Park and Campground.
