Tropical Storm Gordon Makes Landfall
As Tropical Storm Gordon made landfall last night along the Alabama coast line, Gulf Shores will remain under a Local State of Emergency until Thursday. The storm poured up to three feet of heavy rain above ground level and is likely to cause flash flooding across several states as far as Iowa in the coming days.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Gordon sustained winds up to 70 miles-per-hour south of Mobile. More than 27,000 Alabamians reported to be without power as the tropical storm hammered ashore. So far, there has been one reported death in Pensacola, Florida caused by Tropical Storm Gordon.
