Shooting in Auburn

A shooting taking place across the street from the Auburn University campus killed one man and injured four people. The shooting took place inside a popular bar and restaurant while people were celebrating Auburn’s win over Alabama State Saturday. Police received a report on shots being fired around 2:30 Sunday morning. A 20-year-old man from Tuskegee was found dead at the scene.

 

Two teenage boys, ages 16 and 17 along with a 19-year-old woman all from Opelika were injured. A 21-year-old Auburn student was also injured during the shooting. The 16-year-old was flown to a hospital in Columbus, Georgia with serious injuries while the other victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

 

Police are continuing to investigate the incident as there has not been any information released about the shooter.
