High School Football Awards - Week 2


The dust has settled from week two of the high school football season; and after a action-packed Friday night of football, the awards are in:

KFC-Pigskin Roundup Team of the Week: Anniston Bulldogs The Bulldogs beat Cherokee County 14-10 to secure the first win of the season. It also marked the first victory under new head coach Rico White. Anniston is off to a 1-0 start in region play with a trip to Cleburne County on Friday. As team of the week, the entire squad and coaching staff will receive a meal from KFC and the team of the week t-shirts.

Wiseguys Pizza Player of the Week: Ron Wiggins, Jacksonville RB The junior running back had 254 yards rushing on 12 carries (average of 12 yards per carry). Wiggins also scored all five touchdowns in the Eagles win over Ashville. As the Player of the Week, Wiggins will receive a free large pizza from Wiseguys Pizza.
