Decatur Man Charged with Possession

A routine traffic stop reported by Glencoe Police resulted in a Decatur man receiving numerous charges including Possession of a Pistol by a Violent Felon. Anthony Adams has been charged with two counts of Possession of Methamphetamine, and Crack Cocaine, along with Possession of a Pistol by a Violent Felon.

According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Adams was pulled over by Glencoe Police for driving a stolen vehicle taken during a robbery in Bartow County, Georgia. Authorities also discovered that Adams was in possession of a wallet belonging to the victim. Adams was out on probation for a burglary that occurred last month.

He is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center where he awaits extradition to Georgia for a armed robbery warrant. The investigation of this incident is still ongoing and Adams could face additional charges.
