EMA Director Gets Award


During today’s Calhoun County Commission meeting, commissioners took the time to recognize and honor Calhoun County’s EMA Director, Jonathan Gaddy, by awarding him with a plaque. The plaque is a symbol of the county’s appreciation and dedication Gaddy has displayed during his time serving the Calhoun County communities.

During his 11 years, commissioners say Gaddy’s leadership has been outstanding and has not gone unnoticed. Gaddy has chosen to further his career by joining the Alabama EMA as their new assistant director. He says that he will truly miss serving the people of Calhoun County. Gaddy also reminisced on the tornadoes of 2011 and the most recent March 19th tornado as they were the two biggest disaster’s he’s dealt with since being director. Gaddy also adds that he is looking forward to being a public servant at the state level. His last day as Calhoun County EMA Director will be September 14th and will begin his new position in Clanton on October 1st.
