American Red Cross Helps with Relief Efforts
Hurricane Florence has made landfall, severely destroying families’ homes and plans to do more damage as the hours go by. The American Red Cross already has tens of thousands of people in need of shelter, food and water. More than 1,500 Red Cross disaster workers have begun helping with Hurricane Florence relief efforts to provide shelter and support for tens of thousands of people until they can return home or find other places to stay. If needed, local government officials may transition evacuation centers into emergency shelters if residents can’t return home after the storm passes.
The Red Cross depends on financial donations to be able to provide disaster relief immediately. To help people affected by Hurricane Florence, visit RedCross.org.
