Cane Creek Community Garden Fall Festival

It’s that time of year again for the 12th annual Cain Creek Community Garden Fall Fest in Calhoun County. A day filled with family fun to bring in the fall festivities will be held this Saturday at the Cain Creek Community Garden in McClellan. Each year the Fall Fest gets bigger and bigger with more than 20 vendors who will be in attendance. The country store with fresh homemade goods created by the master gardeners will be available for purchase.

The proceeds from homemade goods sales will help support the community garden project that provides a place for people in the community to continue to grow fresh fruits and vegetables. There will be a cakewalk and grocery giveaway every hour. Alpacas, sheep and goats will also be there for kids’ entertainment was well as pony rides and a wildlife show. Extension Coordinator Doctor David West shares why he believes this event grows bigger every year. Doctor West also says there will even be a hay ride, cast iron and apple butter demonstrations to go along with the fall fest. The fest will begin this Saturday at 9am and last until 2pm. Upon arrival, a $1 donation that goes toward the Community Garden Project is asked for entry into the fall fest.
