Although Florence weakened to a Tropical storm before heading into the weekend, the death toll has risen and hundreds of people are still waiting to be rescued. The death toll is now at 23 as two of those people died from inhaling carbon monoxide from a generator in their home.
According to officials, more than 740,000 homes and businesses are without power in the Carolinas and some could be out for weeks. Rivers have swelled well over record levels and the next few days could bring the most destructive round of flooding in North Carolina history.
