High School Football Awards - Week 3


The dust has settled from week three of the high school football season; and after a action-packed Friday night of football, the awards are in:

KFC-Pigskin Roundup Team of the Week: Piedmont Bulldogs The Bulldogs went on the road to Wedowee and knocked off then-No. 1 ranked Randolph County 27-22. Piedmont is off to a 2-0 start in the very tough Class 3A Region 6 and own a share of first place in the standings. For their big win, the entire team and coaching staff will get the famous team of the week meal from KFC as well as the team of the week t-shirts on Thursday.

Wiseguys Pizza Player of the Week: Darrian Meads, Hokes Bluff RB The junior running back had 16 carries for 204 yards and four touchdowns in the Eagles against Oneonta. Meads averaged 13 yards per carry in the dominating 49-7 win to stay undefeated on the season. As the Player of the Week, Meads will receive a free large pizza from Wiseguys Pizza.
