JSU Football Begins OVC Slate Against Tennessee Tech


The Gamecocks and Golden Eagles will meet on the gridiron for the 22nd time this week and the 10th time in Jacksonville. JSU is 15-6 all-time against TTU and is 7-2 at home in the series. JSU has won the last six meetings in the series with TTU in convincing fashion. The Gamecocks have outscored the Golden Eagles 236-86 over those last six meetings, while out-gaining TTU 3,200-1,504, an average of 533.3 yards per game for JSU to 250.1 yards per game for TTU. The Gamecocks are 12-3 all-time in OVC openers and are 4-0 in OVC openers under John Grass. This marks the third-straight year that JSU has opened OVC play against TTU. JSU has won its last 32 OVC games, the longest active conference winning streak in Division I. Grambling (SWAC) is second with 26 in a row. UCF (AAC) has the longest in FBS with 10.
