The woman who says she was sexually assaulted by Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh wants the FBI to investigate before she testifies. Kavanaugh is accused of sexually assaulting Christine Ford, a California college professor, 35 years ago at a party when they were teenagers. Ford’s lawyer recently wrote a letter to the panel that was obtained by the Associated Press.
The letter states that an FBI investigation should be the first step in addressing the allegations before she testifies to the panel next week. This letter was sent to the panel after Ford and her family began receiving death threats and became a target of violence. President Donald Trump has already rejected the idea of the FBI getting involved since a background check on the Supreme Court Nominee has already been completed. President Trump believes that the senate panel should continue to handle the allegations.
Although there is a hearing scheduled on Monday by the senate panel to question both Kavanaugh and Ford, it is unclear whether Ford will show to testify if the FBI doesn’t get involved.
