Cargill Meat Solutions based out of Colorado is recalling more than 132,000 pounds of ground beef after an E-coli outbreak killed one-person and has 17 others sick. According to the US Department of Agriculture, the beef was produced, packaged, and shipped to retailers nationwide.
The products include three, ten, and twenty pound packages of ground beef under the Our Certified, Excel, Sterling Silver, Certified and Fire River Farm brands with a ‘use of freeze by’ date of July 11th. The Cargill plant had a smaller recall in August of Excel ground beef but no reported illnesses.
Most severe infections of E-coli can lead to Kidney failure other symptoms include diarrhea and vomiting. If you have any of these products in your household, you are encouraged to throw them away or take the product back to its store of purchase.
