The Alliance for a Healthier Generation is a non-profit organization that aims to empower kids to develop lifelong healthy habits by ensuring the environment around them provides and promotes good health. To earn an award from the Alliance, schools must demonstrate implementation of best practices in School Health and Safety Policies and Environment, Health and Physical Education, Nutrition Services and more.

More than 600 schools statewide participate in the Alliance program. Munford High and Lincoln Elementary are among the ten Alabama schools honored for their achievements.
