The lower lake at the Clay County public fishing complex in Delta is scheduled to reopen on October first. In 2016, the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries began a project to repair leaks in the drain and valve system.
In order to repair the leaks, the lake had to be drained and restocked. Fishers can now look forward to catching largemouth bass, bluegill, sunfish, crappie, and more. The 23 acre lower lake will officially reopen Monday at sunrise.
