The Etowah County Health Department held their Drive Thru Flu Clinic to encourage people to get their flu vaccinations before flu season arrives. The 9th annual Drive Thru Flu Clinic gave more than 300 flu shots to the public today as a way of keeping the public as healthy as possible. The drive thru clinic also serves as a convenience to many elderly people.
Some parents brought their entire family through the drive thru clinic to get their early vaccines. Several cases of the flu have already been reported this year in the area. Nurse Supervisor Lindsey Laminack says if you missed today’s event, there are still ways to get your early vaccine.
Laminack also tells TV24 that the health department will continue to offer the drive thru services as long as the public continues to take advantage of the opportunity.
