A special dog park has been created at Cheaha State Park in honor or a beloved visitor. Mike Bosarge was a photographer, a philanthropist, and a dog lover. But, most importantly, he enjoyed spending time at Cheaha State Park. After his passing, Bosarges’ family wanted to create something special in order to honor him by making a donation to create the memorial.
The memorial park is unique because it allows pets and their owners the ability to roam freely within the park without being attached to a leash. The park is equipped with an obstacle course, water fountains, a shaded area for dogs to rest and more. Park Superintendent Renee Raney says she’s already received positive feedback about the park.
During the ribbon cutting of the memorial park, close friends and family of Bosarge gathered for the unveiling. Raney also says that more than 90 visitors brought their pets to play inside the new dog park.
