Ethics Violation Charges Against Etowah County Sheriff Dropped

The ethics violation case against Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin regarding the feeding of jail inmates has been dropped. According to Ethics Commission Director Tom Albritton, the case was dropped due to insufficient evidence. An investigation was launched into Entrekin after reports showed that he kept $750,000 over the past three years in public funds that was originally for feeding inmates.

He also purchased a $740,0000 beach house in Orange Beach. Entrekin believed that he followed the law on handling the inmate feeding funds and that the money made from feeding business was taxed on as he did other income. Entrekin lost in the Republican Primary against Johnathon Horton and there is no Democrat running against Horton in November.
