High Speed Chase Ends in Arrest of Heflin Man in Oxford

A police chase ending in Oxford, right in front of TV24 studios, lands a man behind bars with several serious offenses. According to the Heflin Police Department, officers chased the man to exit 188 off I-20.

 

The chase began when they responded to a call about a suspicious man in a business parking lot. When officers approached the man’s car, they saw he was not wearing clothing and he took off, attempting to run over officers and others in the parking lot. Oxford police performed a pit maneuver to end the chase.

 

William Threatt was taken into custody and charged with Reckless Endangerment, three counts of first degree Attempted Assault, Obstruction to Government Operations, Resisting Arrest and more. Threatt is currently being held in the Cleburne County Jail on a $62,000 bond.
