Etowah Small Business Awards Luncheon

A red carpet event took place at the Pitman Theatre in Gadsden to recognize small businesses thriving in their endeavors. To kick off weekend festivities in Etowah County, representatives from dozens of small businesses participated in the Etowah Small Business Awards Luncheon.

Hosted by the Gadsden-Etowah Chamber of Commerce, representatives from each business were treated to an afternoon of music and lunch until the winners in each category were revealed. Some of the categories were non-profit, emerging, small businesses with less than ten employees, and minority or women owned. Team One Toyota won a small business of the year award and General Manager Robert Gates says teamwork is the reason for this award. Another small business awards winner was the Special Programming of Achievement Network. The SPAN Program is a non-profit that seeks to prevent incarceration of at-risk youth through counseling, education and more. This program aims to help students become productive members within their communities. SPAN Program coordinator says this recognition award means a lot to the organization.
