Mental Health Conference
The second annual Mental Health Conference was held today that covered issues ranging from child and adolescent topics to preventing Alzheimer's. More than 160 people attended this years’ Mental Health Conference that was created to help educate communities about major health concerns. Several seminars were hosted by local professionals who brought awareness to parents and other members of the community about issues regarding media violence on childhood brain development, the use of synthetic drugs and more.
More than a dozen vendors were also in attendance to provide resource information regarding their services. The community outreach coordinator for Gadsden Regional Medical Center says this is a conference that is desperately needed throughout the state as well as the country.
Works also adds that she hopes people who attended this year’s conference are able to put the information they gathered to good use by passing it on to others.
