Governor Ivey Places Delay of Parole Hearings

Governor Kay Ivey met with Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall along with the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles where she signed Executive Order 716.


This executive order, which goes into effect immediately, imposes a temporary delay on early parole hearings and requires the submission and implementation of a corrective action play by the Board of Pardons and Paroles. Governor Ivey made it clear that the board’s decisions are crucial to the safety of our state.


Governor Ivey also announced the designation of Lyn Head as the Chairperson of the Alabama Pardons and Paroles who will take over responsibilities from Clifford Walker. Walker will remain a member of the Board.
