In honor of this month being Fire Prevention Month, the Oxford Fire Department will be conducting their Smoke Detector Blitz this week. The Smoke Detector Blitz is an event to help promote the importance of having working smoke detectors in homes.
The fire department has a partnership through the state Fire Marshal's Office which allows for the department to get free smoke detectors year round. So, the Oxford Fire Department will be out in various neighborhoods, going door to door, offering free smoke detectors to anyone who may need one. Oxford’s Fire Marshal says the free smoke detectors will last for years to come.
If your home is in need of a smoke detector, simply call the Oxford Fire Department during business hours to set up a time this week for installation.
