Piedmont Couple Charged in Connection to Storage Unit Fire

A married couple from Piedmont has been charged in connection to a fire that occured at a mini storage unit. According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Michael and Courtney Vice were seen on camera at a storage building in Hokes Bluff shortly before the fire began. Statements from witnesses also place the couple at the scene. 

 

The Sheriff’s Office also states that the Vice’s storage unit had recently been advertised as a unit to be sold at auction. They were each charged with one count of third degree Burglary, third degree Arson, and fourth degree Theft of Property. The Vice’s were both booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and later released on $4,500 bond each.
