High School Football Awards - Week 8


After an action-packed Friday night of football, the awards are in from week eight of the high school football season:

KFC-Pigskin Roundup Team of the Week: Spring Garden Panthers The Panthers made school history with their 62-6 win over Appalachian. The team secured the Class 1A-Region 5 title which marked the program’s first championship of any kind. For their big win, the entire team and coaching staff will get the famous team of the week meal from KFC as well as the team of the week t-shirts.

Wiseguys Pizza Player of the Week: Tyree Carmichael, Anniston QB The junior quarterback had 108 yards rushing and two touchdowns in Anniston's 27-13 win over Oneonta. The victory improved the Bulldogs record to 4-2 in the region and secured the No. 3 seed in the Class 4A playoffs. As the Player of the Week, Carmichael will receive a free large pizza from Wiseguys Pizza.
