City of Weaver Honored for Its Efforts to Employee Those with Disabilities


The City of Weaver was recently recognized and honored by the Calhoun Area Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities with this year’s Small Business Award. The Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities is a program that aims to educate the public about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities in order to promote greater independence for people.

Mayor Wayne Willis was also awarded with this year’s Public Service Award for all that he has accomplished for the city. This award puts Willis on the candidacy list to be recognized statewide and he says he’s honored to see the city is shining and being recognized.
