New EMA Director Named for Calhoun County

Calhoun County has a new director for its Emergency Management Agency. Commissioners chose to offer the job to current Etowah County Chief Deputy, Michael Barton, who has worked in public safety for 18 years.

Barton’s previous jobs required him to work through disaster relief, the fire service, and law enforcement. He also has a degree in Emergency Management. With his skill set and knowledge, Barton believes he will offer great service to the people of Calhoun County. Barton will officially begin his new job as the Director for the Calhoun County EMA on November 15th.
