Flashlight Candy Hunt Festival

Parents in Jacksonville looking for a fun event to let children participate in for Halloween is taking place tomorrow. The annual Flashlight Candy Hunt and Festival is family friendly filled with fun and lots of candy.

The Flashlight Candy Festival is an event hosted every year by the City of Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department that begins at 5:30pm. This event will be held on the Frogtown Soccer Complex behind the community center where carnival games and an inflatable obstacle course will be available for kids ages 12 and younger.

Children wanting to participate are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes and bring a bag and flashlight in order to find and keep all the goodies during the candy hunt. Superintendent Janis Burns says each child will have a fair opportunity to gather as much candy as they can eat.

Burns also says that last year, more than 300 children showed up dressed in costumes and she looks forward to the event growing each year.

The event is $5 for children 12 years and younger. At 8pm the field lights will go out, and the flashlights turn on as children hunt for all the candy goods.
