Regional Hiring Fair


Despite rain playing a major factor today, hundreds of job seekers came from all over East Alabama to participate in this year’s Regional Hiring Fair at the Oxford Civic Center. More than 60 employers participated in the hiring fair as companies and businesses looked to fill a total of 1,600 open jobs within the work region. The purpose of this fair is to inform people of jobs available that they possibly qualify for.

College students looking for the next step after school and also job seekers looking for better jobs were also in attendance today. The regional hiring fair hosted by East Alabama Works also helps bridge the gap between companies, colleges and training programs to understand the skills necessary to qualify students entering the workforce. Program Manager Carl Brady says he believes today’s job fair was a success for many.

Brady also adds that if you missed this year’s hiring fair, he encourages you to visit one of the areas career centers in Anniston, Talladega, or Gadsden.
