Community Enabler Thrift Store Named in Honor of Executive Director

The Community Enabler Thrift Store caught fire last year, destroying the building and most of its goods. Earlier today, a ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of the new thrift store building. The Community Enabler is a nonprofit organization that has been supporting low income families in Calhoun County for more than 48 years. Earlier today, a ceremony was held for the new building that will serve as a thrift store, providing a food pantry, clothing, furniture, and more.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony, the unveiling of the buildings name, The Holloway House, was in honor of Executive Director Maudine Holloway. Holloway says she is blessed to be in the position she is in, to help serve others in need. Holloway adds that she is thankful for everyone who lended a helping hand in order to complete the construction of the new store. She also talks about the Santa Clause House.

Parents who aren’t able to afford gifts for their children can come inside the house and talk to Santa for this upcoming holiday season. The Holloway House will officially be open November 13th from 10am until 4pm.
