Flags Half Staff For Mass Shooting in California
Governor Kay Ivey has ordered all flags across Alabama to be lowered at half-staffed to pay respect towards the victims who lost their lives during the mass shooting in Thousand Oaks, California. A man, dressed in all black, entered a popular hangout spot for college students and opened fire, killing 12 people before taking his own life.
More than 15 others were injured from jumping out of windows and diving under tables according to the Associated Press. The gunman has been identified as Ian Long, a former Marine. Among the 12 killed was Sheriff Deputy Ron Helus, who was one of the first responders to the scene. Helus was set to retire soon.
