A local non-profit organization that assists parents with providing children with the Christmas they deserve is now accepting applications. The Toys for Tots program was started through the US Marine Corps Reserve in an effort to collect new and unwrapped toys during the months leading up to the holidays.
The main goal is for local families in the area to have an unforgettable Christmas. Toys for Tots will now be accepting parent applications for this year beginning on November 14th until the 20th. Volunteer Mandi Long says parents with questions or concerns should come to the toys for tots warehouse for help.
Those looking to donate toys and other gifts to the Toys for Tots program can begin to do so. There are already numerous Toys for Tots boxes located at different businesses waiting to be filled with items for children. This year’s age limit has been raised to 16 years old and Long says there has been a struggle on getting appropriate gifts for certain ages.
The requirements regarding the Toys for Tots application process is shown above. For more information and a list of the requirements you can visit the Toys for Tots of East Central Alabama Facebook page of visit their new warehouse in Anniston.
