Archimedes the Eastern Screech Owl Dies

Thursday, November 15, 2018

A long time icon of the Anniston Museum of Natural History is gone. Archimedes, the owl, was known as the rock star of the educational ambassador team and had been with the museum for more than 20 years.

Although Archimedes retired two years ago from shows within the museum, he was known to many visitors and employees as the most poised and well-mannered ambassador. The Animal Medical Center provided the Eastern Screech Owl with care until his passing. Employees and visitors say that Archimedes will be truly missed.
