The Noble Bank Foundation Distributes Funds Raised in Golf Event
This time of year is notorious for being the season of giving. The Noble Bank Foundation recently held a ceremony at their Anniston branch giving away the thousands of dollars raised towards local charities. The Noble Bank Foundation began hosting the Martha Vandervoort Memorial Golf Classic Charity event three years ago in an effort to keep Vandervoort’s legacy alive.
A total of $60,000 was raised from the golf classic and put directly back into the community by being donating to several faith-based charities. Some of those charities include Cheaha Valley FCA, Calhoun Habitat for Humanity, Sav-A-Life along with a host of others. Vandervoort was the former director for Interfaith Ministries where she devoted her life taking care of others who were in need. The Executive Director for Interfaith Ministries says the money given to their organization will go directly towards assisting people who are less fortunate. Sav-A-Life is a ministry that offers emotional, spiritual and physical assistance to women affected by unplanned pregnancies. Executive Director Michelle Payne says the money received from Noble Bank will be used to help many clients who need their assistance.
Spokesman for The Noble Bank Foundation Hannah Downing says Vandervoort was known as the Mother Theresa of Calhoun County and Noble Bank and Trust is honored to be able to help people especially during this holiday season.
