The Calhoun County Board of Education held its Inauguration Ceremony for new and returning board members. Seven board members took their oath of office with the honorable Probate Judge Alice Martin. Majority of the members have retired from the school system or are business owners looking to continue making a positive impact within their communities.
Mike Almaroad is Chairman of the board and has been involved with the Board of Education for 30 years. Alamaroad says he’s pleased with the members chosen to represent the county and looks forward to see the positive changes for years to come.
A short celebration reception followed by the board’s first meeting was conducted after the ceremony. Alamaroad says the members of the board have a big task on their hands with choosing a new County Superintendent to replace Joe Dayer who is retiring the first of the new year.
