Interim Superintendent Chosen for Calhoun County Schools

Calhoun County Schools Superintendent Joe Dyar has officially retired after successfully serving for eight years. The County Board of Education recently appointed an interim superintendent until the position can be filled permanently. Former Jacksonville schools superintendent Jon Campbell has been selected as Calhoun County’s interim superintendent.

Doctor Campbell also spent several years as an administrator for Etowah County School System. Although interim superintendent Campbell is retired, he stresses that he is not seeking a full-time or long-term position anywhere and wants his time spent as an interim to be making sure students stay focused. Doctor Campbell says that the board hopes to fill the position by the beginning of February.
