League for Animal Welfare's Winter Festival

Although rain is expected to take over much of the day Saturday, forcing Christmas parades to be canceled, there is still fun, indoor activities taking place. The League for Animal Welfare is hosting its Winter Festival event that is family friendly filled with tons of fun and games. The League for Animal Welfare is a non-profit organization that cares for animals until they can find them a forever home.

The Winter Festival was created in order to raise money for the league to continue caring for these animals. The $5 per person admission fee will allow the entire family to play several games that includes a pumpkin walk, sack races, cake walk, three legged races and so much more. Food will also be for sale. Director Paula Meadors says this is an event you do not want to miss. The Winter Festival event will also have Santa Claus as a special guest who has even agreed to enter the adult dance off contest. Meadors also says donations are always welcomed. The shelter is in need of more cat litter and cleaning supplies in order to keep the cat cages and dog kennels clean. The Winter Festival will begin Saturday at 11am until 5pm.
