Navendra Woods Resigns at Coosa Christian

Navendra Woods has resigned his post as the head coach at Coosa Christian. Woods spent three seasons with the Conquerors and led the team to the playoffs each year. He took over after the Conquerors finished 0-10 in 2015 and improved each season. Coosa won three games in 2016 and four in 2017 - qualifying for the postseason in Class 1A Region 6. The Conquerors enjoyed their first winning season since 2009, going 7-4 this season. The offense scored 357 total points (the most in 8 years) and set a school record with 71 points in a single game over Valley Head. Coosa Christian becomes the third local team looking for a new coach in 2019, joining Cherokee County & Weaver.
