Stringfellow Health Fund Fall 2018 Grant Awards
The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama held its Fall Stringfellow Health Fund Grant Awards were they awarded nearly two dozen nonprofit organizations. More than $249,000 was awarded earlier today to organizations that play leading roles within the community. The foundation strives to provide assistance so that the community continues to thrive while also improving lives.
The Arc of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties was one of the grant’s recipients. The Arc serves adults and children with intellectual disabilities. Executive Director Tammy Moreno says the two grants they received will help with summer day camps for the youth and so much more.
The Coosa Riverkeeper also received a grant to help continue the duties of the Coosa River Swim Guide service that is available to the public. Karlie Riley believes that the Coosa River Swim Guide is an essential for properly testing the water that feeds into the Coosa River. Other organizations that received grants were Family Links, the Boys and Girls Club of East Central Alabama, Family Success Center of Etowah County, The Health Care Authority of Piedmont, The Cardinal Foundation at Gadsden State and many others. All recipient representatives are thankful that the community foundation strives to better all communities throughout northeast Alabama.
