The Pointe at JSU Grand Opening
Students returning to Jacksonville State University after the holidays will come back to a newly renovated off campus facility that was destroyed by the March 19th tornado. The Pointe at JSU, formally known as The Reserve, now has new ownership, and new buildings for students to live in. The Pointe has four bedroom and two bedroom apartments for students to rent that have been fully upgraded.
A dog park has been added to the complex along with security fencing and cameras around the entire facility. Housing and businesses along Nisbet Street were among the hardest hit when the tornado touched down in Jacksonville. Nearly nine month later, the city is almost whole again. The Owner of the new apartment complex says the students are his main priority. Manoah says he is working closely with university officials to have students moving into The Pointe at the beginning of January and hopes to have a complex full of students by July of 2019.
