Saturday, December 15, 2018

The Alabama Legislature is considering a gas tax increase that could very well go into effect the beginning of next year. WEIS Radio confirms that a $0.06-0.10 per gallon gas tax increase will be considered in the next legislative session.

Republican Majority Leader, Nathaniel Ledbetter says if the gas tax increase passes, it will be used towards infrastructure improvements. The state currently has the lowest gas taxes in the nation, meaning that prices are significantly lower than they are in surrounding states.
