The Calhoun County Commission, Extension, and Recycling sponsored this year’s Electronic Recycling Drive earlier today. People dropped off old and unwanted cables, cell phones, TV’s, VCR’s and other electronics.
The county will then make sure all unwanted electronics will get disposed properly free of charge. Environmental Enforcement Manager Theodore Smart says getting rid of electronic waste benefits the community in more ways than one.
Smart also adds that the county tries to sponsor an Electronic Recycling Drive at least once a year. Last year, the county proper disposed more than seven-thousand pounds of electronic waste.
