Military graves throughout the United States will be covered in Christmas wreaths this holiday season thanks to a national effort that began back in 1992. More than two million wreaths are being delivered to military cemeteries this week, including the cemetery at Fort McClellan in Anniston. Mike Abrams, one of the local coordinators of the program, says those wreaths arrived by special delivery today.
Abrams says the wreath-laying ceremony begins at 11 Saturday morning. Alabama Army National Guard soldiers, along with local Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Venture Scouts and Young Marines will take part in the program, and the public is invited.
