Proposed Beer Tent at Outdoor City Events

The Piedmont City Council is considering a proposal to allow a beer tent at future city outdoor events. According to WEIS Radio, Piedmont business owner, Nathan Pope, pitched the idea on behalf of a group of local businesses owners to the council earlier this week.

Pope explained, it’s part of an effort to draw more people to downtown events. He also said the alcohol would have to remain inside the area its sold. Other proposals to draw more people to downtown Piedmont included holding the Christmas parade on the same day as Christmas Village and bringing back Piedmont’s Sunshine Festival each fall.
