Rain didn’t stop the community from participating in the Wreaths Laying Across America as hundreds of supporters came to pay their respects. More than two million Christmas wreaths were delivered all over the country to military graves.
Alabama Army National Guard soldiers, along with local Boy and Girl Scouts, Venture Scouts and Young Marines took part in laying the wreaths on each grave as a gesture to pay their respects to the lives lost while fighting and honoring our country. Although the ceremony began back in 1992, Garrison Commander Larry Vaughn says that each year holds a special place in his heart.
Commander Vaughn also says he is thankful for the continuous support from the community and he is looking forward to Armed Forces Day in March.
