New Police Chief of Jacksonville has been Sworn In

The City of Jacksonville has a new police chief as Marcus Wood has officially sworn-into duty. Chief Wood is an Anniston native who is now the first African-American Chief in Jacksonville Police Department history.

Wood previously worked at the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office over the patrol division and has now replaced retired police Chief Tommy Thompson who happily served the city for 47 years. TV24 will have more of Chief Wood’s swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday’s Primetime newscast.
