Business Owners Recognized at Anniston High School

Wednesday, December 19, 2018

A special assembly was held today at Anniston High School to acknowledge two business owners who have supported the Anniston community throughout the year. Wakefield and Martin’s Department stores President, Bill Wakefield along with Kia of Anniston and Gadsden General Manager, Billy Hobden were both recognized for their outstanding support and contributions to the faculty and students at the high school.

Wakefield and Hobden combined have donated thousands of dollars to Anniston High School to ensure students have the opportunity to learn in a healthy and growing environment. This past year, because of their generous donations, a student was able to enroll in Jacksonville State University on paid tuition.

As Principal Charles Gregory thanked them for their continuous support, Wakefield and Hobden says supporting the students is better than any gift they’ve ever received. Hobden and Wakefield made sure that every student, faculty and staff at the high school would receive a gift card as a gift for this holiday season.
