Georgia Man Charged with Trafficking, Possession & Traffic Offense in Centre

A Georgia man is behind bars in Cherokee County after he refused to stop his vehicle for deputies who suspected him of driving under the influence. James Clark of Rome, Georgia was traveling along Highway 278 in Spring Garden when the chase began. According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Clark lost control of his vehicle near the county line.

 

Deputies found more than two ounces of methamphetamine, marijuana, several unlawful pills along with an AK-style rifle. Clark is charged with numerous charges including Drug Trafficking, Attempting to Elude, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Upon his arrest, deputies discovered that Clark also had an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear on a previous firearms charge. Clark is currently being held in Cherokee County without bond.
