Calhoun County Corrections Officer Charged with Promoting Contraband


A Calhoun County corrections officer has been charged with promoting prison contraband. Dalton Summers of Weaver was caught delivering bundles of tobacco to an inmate who is charged with murder. According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Summers was fired immediately and taken into custody for third degree Promoting Prison Contraband.

The jailer was booked and later released from the Calhoun County Jail on $3,000 bond. Summers is scheduled to appear in court on January 29th.
