No Alcohol Compromise in Piedmont

The Piedmont City Council failed to come to a compromise on whether to allow alcohol sales at downtown events. The proposal came from a downtown business owner who wants to attract more people to downtown events.

During a heated debate at the council meeting, some council members explained that other things can be done to attract more people downtown without alcohol. Members took a split vote of 4-to-4. The council is set to discuss the proposal again at the next city council meeting on January first, 2019.
